Steele joined in 2021 to lead the firm’s economic development practice. Prior to joining EBP, Chris was the leader of Conway Data’s Advisory Services practice areas and had previously served for a decade as COO of Investment Consulting Associates.
Chris has over three decades of experience as a land use, transportation, and economic development planner. He also brings a wealth of experience as an international leader in economic development, location, and site selection consultancy, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) advisory. Chris is a frequent presenter at industry events worldwide, including Transportation Research Board (TRB) conferences, Area Development, Cargo Logistics Canada, Great Lakes Economic Forum, IEDC’s annual summits, and the FDI World Forum. “I am excited to step into my new role as EBP Group’s President and CEO” says Chris. “We have a dedicated and highly talented staff, great clients, and an ever-growing list of exciting projects, as well as a strong record of helping agencies, firms, and communities solve complex problems and prepare for a rapidly changing future. I look forward to leading the firm to continued growth and success.”
Matthias Thoma, Chairman of the EBP Global Management Board, noted: “Chris is perceived by the market and within the firm as a leader with strong skills in business development and communication. He has the potential to inspire and develop colleagues, which is one of the most crucial tasks of any leader. We also believe Chris has the ability to grow and diversify the company, and further develop our core practice areas.”
