EDR Group's Chandler Duncan presented at the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) 2013 annual conference, held 10/22-10/25 in Portland, OR, Duncan was one of four panelists speaking on the topic of "Assessing Programs and Project Benefits Across the Triple Bottom Line."

AMPO

The session featured a discussion of methods to assess the benefits of programs and projects across the triple bottom line (economic, social and environmental).  The approaches featured both quantitiative and qualitative methods to evaluate programs and projects including a discussion of how one state is working to monetize benefits of projects as part of the evaluation process.  Case study examples were provided of MPOs that have been finding creative and new ways to use economic impact analysis as a source of information to improve land use plans, identify opportunities for transit-oriented development and identify projects that can effectively increase job access.
