In the past 3 years, TREDIS Software has released TREDTransit, TREDAir, and a suite of TREDPLAN tools to support other aspects of our customers’ economic analysis work. TREDIS Software and EDR Group also work together to provide custom software solutions to clients across the U.S. and globally. Each of our core software-as-a-service products is continuously under development as we work to advance the frontier of the economic analysis field for our clients.
About the Position
To support TREDIS Software’s growth, we are looking to fill a new position responsible for helping agencies understand how they can better leverage our tools to improve their planning and decision processes. To achieve this goal, you’ll need to wear many hats as a key part of our core software team, including elements of marketing, product and customer support leadership.
Understanding our customers’ use cases is essential to success in this position. Because of this, we are looking for someone who likely has more transportation planning experience than software product experience. You should have familiarity with topics such as:
- Economic evaluation methods (including benefit-cost and economic impact analysis)
- State Department of Transportation (DOT) and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) processes
- Project selection methods (multicriteria rating, cost effectiveness, scoring and ranking)
- Long range planning and visioning for alternative futures (demographic, technology, and trade trends)
You will advise and support state and local transportation planning agencies in the application of decision support software tools for planning, prioritization, impact analysis, and funding decisions. To understand our product and market you will directly support clients, with the possibility to build and manage a broader team of consultants over time. You will provide training to new customers and through webinars to larger groups, as well as, participate in periodic trade shows and conferences along with other team members.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to proactively identify and contact DOTs, MPOs and other planning entities to show how agency business processes could benefit from utilization of decision support tools and methodologies. As such, business development experience is a plus.
You will be supported in the position by a team of expert economists, analysts and programmers. Through your relationship with users, you will also have responsibilities as a business analyst communicating customer needs to the research and development team. As your role in the team develops, you will likely take on product ownership responsibilities including business direction and project management roles for new features.
