Farm to Market Freight Economic Impact Study

For the U.S. Soybean Board (with Informa Economics), EDR Group (now EBP) performed an analysis of the impact of freight transportation deficiencies and potential improvements supporting the flow of soybeans, oats, wheat, barley, corn, sorghum, and related products. The study included an assessment of the dependence of US industry sectors in the trade of selected agricultural commodities as well as the adverse economic impact of deficiencies in locks and dams, ports and rail freight facilities, as related to the movement of such commodities. The analysis further explored the potential societal benefits and economic impacts that may be associated with transportation investments to improve the movement of agricultural goods.
