New Mexico Transportation Network Resilience

For New Mexico DOT, EBP (formerly EDR Group) is currently working to develop methods for prioritizing projects to improve transportation network resilience.

The study is developing data and evaluation methods for three analysis elements: (1) identification of facilities that are most vulnerable to failure due to external events (e.g., wildfires, floods, rockfall) as well as facility conditions and state of repair, and (2) identification of network elements that lack redundancy in the case of their failure, and (3) identification of facilities that are most economically important to New Mexico residents and businesses, or most critical for safety and medical care access. The project will show how this information can be applied to develop prioritization criteria for the DOT’s resilience plan.
