North State Transportation for Economic Development Study
For the Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA), on behalf of the 16-county North State region of California, EDR Group (now EBP) served as a subcontractor to System Metrics Group, to conduct the "North State Transportation for Economic Development" study. The study examined needs and opportunities for stimulating economic activity through targeted investments in transportation infrastructure.
The project, funded by Caltrans, included an analysis to (1) identify accessibility-related obstacles and opportunities to economic activity; (2) evaluate regional transportation plans in terms of their responsiveness to existing and emerging industry; and (3) calculate the economic impact of proposed or alternative transportation investments. Results were intended to also encourage coordination between transportation planning and economic development sectors, and help demonstrate to state and federal funding partners the value of discretionary transportation investments in the North State.
