Assessing the Impact of Interstate and Freeway Withdrawals
For the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), EBP was on a team providing a study on modernizing and expanding US 69 in the City of Overland Park.
US 69 is an important corridor that supports mobility in the bi-state Kansas City metropolitan area. EBP’s contributions involved (1) validating and allocating socioeconomic forecasts to support a traffic and revenue analysis, (2) inventorying major activity centers along the corridor, (3) assessing corridor real estate activity, and (4) estimating the economic impacts of tolling scenarios and safety and environmental improvements. EBP’s work was critical in helping KDOT understand how future economic uncertainty could affect traffic and revenue levels on the facility.
