US Wind Economic Impact Analysis

For US Wind, EBP performed a macroeconomic study in support of a Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) application for MarWin, their Maryland offshore wind project.

The team analyzed two (2) wind turbine scenarios, 114 turbines with 1,676 MW of generating capacity and 121 turbines with 2,178 MW of capacity, and assessed the macroeconomic effects associated with the construction of each. Based on project capital expenditures, including labor, materials, equipment, and services, the team used a calibrated IMPLAN model to estimate economic activity generated from the project. The analysis included number of jobs, income, gross domestic product (GDP), output, and tax revenue generated in Maryland over the seven-year construction period.
